Hey everyone hows it going? I just created this account a few minutes ago because I'm looking for some incite in building a new computer...

One of the options I'm looking at is building a dual processor computer based on AMD Athlons...

I've heard that there are incompatability issues with sound blaster 5.1 cards and dual processors or there not supported or something like that?

Can anyone help me out with this...if I buy one of these cards and put it in a dual processor computer will there be any serious issues or problems?

Are there other sound cards that work better with dual processors?

By the way the motherboard will be an MSI K7D Master and the chips will be Athlon 2200 +

Thanks

I had a SB Live! 5.1 in my little dual cpu setup. (BP6 with 2 PPGA celerons). Never had any problems with it. At least never in windows (XP Pro and 2000 Pro). I didn't play too many games with that rig but the games i played worked fine.

i have probelms with sb live 5.1

it wont work at all, never worked. there is a problem with the drivers but no driver problems are reported through windows hardware info. program will not detect the wdm driver, even though it is installed and reports in working condition.
