how much??

hi,
i carnt seem to make up my mind i currently have 256mb pc2700 samsung memory but i want to get more.

do i get a 512 stick and add it with my 256 stick and give me 786? or just get another 256 stick?

most of the things i do is game and rip dvd's. i know dvd ripping takes a fair amout of memory but would i really get much better performance from 768 than 512? would win xp perform better with more?

I would just another 256 stick. Your not going to see really any difference with 768 and also memory seems to run better with even sticks..you could maybe even see a performace drop with a 256 and 512...thats my honest op.

Well I never said you would have problems...but even in your case....2100 mixed with 2700....thats a waste...imho. I just dont see any advantage from 512 to 768. Most peeps like 75% have 512 right now. Maybe in the near future...1 gb will be more nesscesary.

from what I heard. if you play such game like 1942 you definitely need 768 cuz that game particular sux a lot of memo
especially when price around $70 for 512

so its heading for 768MB u guys think? i play counter strike, gta3, sof 2 and ut 2003
