So I order 1 GB of DDRRAM, assuming I have DDR on my mobo, only to find out I have RD. Compatable, or no?

RD and DDR are completly different and non-compatable. You will have to tell us what motherboard you have inorder to know if you use DDR or RD. Or looking at your existing RAM will let you know.

at this point you need to decide which you want to keep.

either the ram needs to be changed or the motherboard.

either thing can be changed without changing anything else besides a reformat and reinstall of windows if you go the motherboard route.

motherboard is likely cheaper than the ram you purchased, but you could probably send the ram back albiet with the restocking fees at 15-25% thats going to be a hefty fine.
