yes if you run 1:1 memory divider and take the fsb up to 200MHz, my a7v333 can do it too... in theory, dunno whats holding back my fsb speed

But wait a second.....
Will DDR400 memory work in a DDR266 motherboard???
Will an AGP8x card work in an AGP4x slot???
Which one of my USB ports should I plug my keyboard and mouse into???
Is this power supply big enough?
Oh yeah, how are my temperatures and voltages??? My system runs rock solid, BUT ARE THE NUMBERS OK!?!?!
j/k :D

This should be a sticky. Think of the resources it will save on the server if there weren't "will my memory work in this board" threads 50 times a week!!!

I agree it is one of the 1 ?'s I asked on these forums.
But I would really like to know will the upcoming ddr2 work in a ddr motherboard.

Could not resist on this one, but . . .
Olive oil is from olives, baby oil is named after the product it is USED ON. It was created so you could use it on babies and that is why it is called baby oil, not because it is made from babies.
Two different things there. :D

Simple: Overclocking's addictive.
You'll get to the point where you'll do anything for just one more notch up the fsb scale.....by then, we won't have to force you to do it.
:D
Seriously, once I built my own system and started overclocking it, I was hooked! :D

i normally wouldn't tell people not to smoke, but don't smoke around your computer. you wouldn't believe how nasty the insides of a computer can look after it's had 100's cfm of air being pushed thru every minute and if that air is filled with smoke, your components are going to get gunk on them (especially if you smoke a lot)
sure your computer will still run fine, but just think that the extra gunk could hurt your overclock :D
Well I used to not be able to smoke around my pc but now that I can I use filters on my intakes anyway so maybe that will help alittle.

Okay, so I've been reading up, but I have one question...Giga-Byte says that the 7VAX will only support certain modules of ddr400, and that's only up to 256MB. Would it still work if I used 512MB of a module that's on the list? not on the list? 256 not on the list?

on that note, i spent about 30 minutes on the phone with my frustrated dad because he was trying to hook up the freakin monitor to the serial port
i finally had him unhook the whole computer so he could look at the little symbols on back and study them before putting it on the desk so he didn't have to do it without some idea of what he was doing... hehe. he felt a little dumb afterwards... but oh well... like he said, that is why people like me will have jobs forever :)

He's right. No lie...I just spent $150 bucks on a new mobo so I could go from 11x136 to 10x150 (psst...in case you can't add, that's a whole entire 4 mhz). I ordered a $200 watercooling setup this week, so maybe I can get another 1 or 2 mhz before I FINALLY realize that IT WOULD HAVE BEEN A WHOLE LOT CHEAPER TO JUST BUY A FASTER PROC!!!!!...although not NEARLY as fun! :D
ok...back to the topic at hand:

That sounds like a good anti-smoking ad. Not just the fact smoking is bad for your body, its also bad for your computers.
So please think of the poor PC's when smoking, LOL!
