I say it depends on the game. Picked up Bloodrayne for PS2 and it just plays way better on PS2 than it does on a PC.

Some games feel better on a console, some on a PC. I could never see playing advanced move fighting games on a PC. I could also never see playing good multiplayer games on a console.

Games that are designed for a console and ported to PC almost always play better on the console, and vice versa.

That being said, I don't think I'll EVER buy a console, options are too limited, gameplay is too 'light'. (I.E., RPGs etc for Consoles generally suck as far as I'm concerned.)

I played GTA3 on PC, then rented Vice City for my girlfriend's PS2 - I loved GTA3 on PC, VC on the PS2 just makes me want to wait for the PC release.

I am a big XBOX advocate, so I recomend the XBOX. PC games are nice looking, and their controls are nice. But when push comes to shove, consoles are more "socially" fun for me. And nothing beats having fun with your friends.

I like gaming on the PC as nothing beats the graphics, but i do like gaming on my xbox, i can turn it on in seconds and be playing no waiting to boot or messing with windows to install its just nice and straight forward.

I like PC. Think about it- they already have top of the line gaming devices that can play cd's and dvd's and games. They are called COMPUTERS! And unlike an XBOX, PS2, or GAMECUBE, you can't upgrade these with the latest components- you cant go online (yes you can multiplay, but I mean surf the web and chat on aim and stuff)- you can't download and play mp3's (although you can upload them from CD to XBOX's HDD)- and the worst of all---- you can't overclock them!

Yes, they can be plugged into your TV and played anywhere-- but if you already have a gaming PC built, why get a console that you can do less with.

If console game developers moved all their console games to the PC, I would be happy. Because then I can have a fully integrated computer (internet, homework, TV, DVD, games, office work, mp3's/movies, books, hobby of overclocking, radio in some insances, your own personal publisher [printer],... the list goes on)! You can do everything with computers now days.

Why go back to a gaming only system that a computer can take care of reguardless. Yes, you can get PS2 style gamepads (MS makes one for like $15), so the 'feel' of the game woouldn't be lost on a PC.

So in response to this thread- PC is my choice. :D

Depends on your gaming preferences, I played console alot longer then i played PO games, I am an RPG fan of the console, isome of them are my top favourite games, as well as Metal Gear:), For FPS, i say PC, For MMORPG, i say PC, for sports/Racing, i say console, Regular RPG, i say Console, my I also own all four, and i am pushing towards the GC being my favourite because they seem to have gotten the rights for Resident Evil, i got the system because of the remake, i love 0, and cant wait till RE 4 makes its appearance, however PS2 is releasing RE online which i am optomistic about, i think the concept of, you and a group of others are in a city, escape. It will support options to help or hinder the progress of others, all in all i think it will be cool.

PC All The Way :D

consoles are good for arcade style games but when it comes to fps,rts and other games nothing beats PC plus its more versatile

I totally agree. They are cheap (you can get an entry level name brand computer for $400) and much more veratile than consoles. they are also upgradeable, and overclockable :).

I'm with the PC crowd, I myself have a gamecube and do not spend even a 1/4 of the time playing games on it as I do on my PC. Well this is true until Zelda comes out on the 25th :D

This is a PC forum so you will get mostly PC gamer responses. I'm kind of odd in this regard because my favorite gaming platform is the PC although I tend to like console games better. Maybe it was because I grew up with consoles, maybe that is just how I am, I don't know. I like my PC as a platform because for one its 3d performance will spank the hell out of any console. Also my monitor is much sharper than my (or most any) TV.

On the other hand, I think that the variety of games on a console is far better. You can get a multitude of different types of games, for all ages, likes and dislikes. For the PC you get 100 different iterations of the same basic ideas every year. I am talking about FPS and RTS of course. It's all just Dune 2 and Wolfenstein 3d repeated ad nausea.. Yes I know its not that simple but the differences between the games is less than I'd like. I am not an RTS player (I have not gotten into one since Warcraft 2) and I can only handle so much FPS so I often look to console ports. Games like Grand Theft Auto 3, Soul Reaver 2, Metal Gear Solid 2, Halo, and Splinter Cell are the games I enjoy the most and anticipate the most.

Another thing is I just prefer playing games with a gamepad. Yes keyboard and mouse is great but some games just play better with a gamepad. That is why I'm kind of excited about the MS gaming initiatives for the PC... but, then again, I'd likely have to give up my precious Win2k and get longhorn if I wanted to take advantage of them
