hello i was wondering what i should set my video voltage to be. It doesn't seem to stable. Currently i overclocked my 2.66 to 3.2 and when i play around 40 min of games it locks up. I had this problem before when i had my graphics mem sys preformance set to optimal or turbo. I set it to auto and it fixed this problem. I also don't know the correct vcore i should be at. I was told that the formula was original vcore/original cpu mhz *new mhz = new vcore setting. Is this correct? Also does anyone know what voltage i should set my video card to be at? Since overclocking my cpu and mem also overclocks my video should i set my voltage on my video card to be higher too? Also i see alot of ocing utilities for the video cards out there but i was told that you have to short circuit a regulator on the video card first?? Is it true? Thanks for the help guys

Stock voltage for AGP until you actually overclock the video card and not the AGP speed.
There is no formula for upping the voltage on your CPU. In fact that may be dangerous if there is one. Just increase the CPU speed till you crash (note soft crash not some crazy magic smoke massive overclock ;) baby steps) then up the voltage .05 till you run that speed without crashing and you dont overheat your CPU.
Usually if you cannot run your memory at faster settings it means you have not so great RAM (I am not making fun of you because my RAM is trash). You can up the voltage on the RAM to get it to run at turbo settings. Thats your call.
As far as I know you do not need to short anything on video cards to overclock them. You usually do have to fiddle around with resistors to increase the voltage on them other than doing so in the BIOS.

i have ocz 3700 ram. i think they should be able to run at turbo mode. i don't understand y once i set it to optimal or turbo it locks up. I tried the ddr voltage at 2.6 and 2.7 same thing. ya got any other suggestions to run the ram on turbo? right now the ram is running at 443 mhz ibelieve.
had that problem. it happens due to an unstable voltage thus the card runs outa juice randomly. i just changed my mobo . and the problem dissapeard
if its a recent motherboard RMA it tis faulty. but check everything else first

is there a way to test if the voltage is unstable

I hate to say this but point every finger you have at your RAM. OCZ is a shady company scratch that they are theives, plain and simple.

stompah i hope it isn't the ram. is there anyway for me to check this? because i ran a burn in test for the ram and did a 60 loop and it was fine no problems. did it with a dos bootdisk. one thing i noticed was that in my asus probe voltage monitor one of the numbers drop a lot when i play games. i don't know what it is but on the left of it it says +v3.3 do you know what this is? Also wha tis the +5v. I notice that drops once in a while too. I have my ddr voltage at 2.7 is that ok ? and my agp at 1.6. please give me any suggestions on what to do. My system runs great now it's just that it locks up during extended game play for some reason. Please help ifyou can. i'll be waiting for everyone's replies. THanks
theres only one way of testing the agp voltage.. during a game and that would be to change the mother board to another you have lieing around or vice versa.. also try sticking in an older gfx card to see if you can eliminate the ram and other componetnts. if you have an unstable voltage on the agp slot you can still buy PCI slot graphicks cards.. but you already own a agp card. if you get a chance to try your gfx card in another machine and its fine. contact the makers of your motherboard. i did and they fixed me up with a new mobo

i'll give it a try. thanks. i'll put in my old viper v770 card lol. any other ideas on what it is or that's pretty much it? I read up on the ocz 3700s and tomshardware gave them a good review that's y i bought them. they seem to run great. when i don't lock up lol. i'll try to get a replacement board. thanks guys for the help
