it's just a driver hack if you will, it makes your computer think your using a 9800 pro, you dont see any performance gain
Ok, thx for the info, had my hopes up high

It doesnt make ur computer think its a 9800 instead, it enables Smoothvision 2.1 for ALL R300 cores...thats pretty much it (i think). And there is quite a nice performance jump with it, even on my 9500 Pro.

I wasn't pointing at you or anyone else. Just saying "do this and you will have a 9800 Pro" is retarded. Do you think otherwise?

no i agree. but saying its retarded is silly. the hack does work, just not as people seem to think. Saying there is no hack isnt stictly true. some people just need to do a bit of research before they tell everybody they've got 9800pro's lol
anyway, no hard feelings:)
Well, at first I thought I wouldn't get a performance gain... And I didn't. Then I uninstalled Rage3DTweak, reinstalled the Omega drivers, and then reinstalled Rage3DTweak, OC'd my card and got a 800 point increase in 3DMark2001.
There's your "no-gain" for ya. :D

actually evnas is partially wrong - what it does is trick the divers into thinking the core is an r350 (98xx) rather than an r300 (95xx and 97xx). it still recognises your card for what it is, though.
