I know alittle bit about running a fishtank etc etc (call me gay if you want to) and im fairly new to water cooling im just getting into it etc and wanting to get it. Anyway after looking around at places and seeing that these water pumps look exacly like a water pump used in a fish tank I realized they were basicly the same yet up to three times as more in price 30 bucks if not more. So anyway I was wondering if I could use this pump for water cooling. A link is as followed the reason I ask this is because im on a tight budget and id much rather pay 10 bucks isntead of 30 or more bucks for a pump that will do just the same. http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/add_info.cfm?pCatId=8164

Which one out of those?

FYI, many people do use Via Aqua pumps, and if you're running them submerged i recommend them too. Inline? Hmm, its up to you. I wouldn't.

What are your concerns in regard to running such a pump, inline?

hey wait a minute i had a fishtank!

yeah the aqua via is quite popular due to its price. running them inline they do get warm. if they are placed in a airstream within the case you should have not a problem. On low restriction setups many poeple go with the 1300 @ 317GPH.

If you're aiming to build a system that will simply cool your CPU, then that attitude is perhaps ok. However, if you're aiming to build a system that will really perform then it's dead wrong.
