I just built a new comp the other day
Lian-LI PC 60
Asus A7N8X Deluxe
AMD XP 2100+ @ 2.00 Ghz (2400+)
120 Gb Maxtor 8mb Cache
40Gb Western Digital (I had my old one RMA'd and they sent me this wierd one)
1gb PC2100 Ram
128 MB Radeon 9100

When Playing C&C generals the hard drive will click once and everything will freeze but works fine after reboot. this kinda gets annoying in the middle of a game. Well I have the HD's installed in the bottom tray where it requires you to mount them on its side. Instead of laying flat, Could this be the problem? Also Im not sure which drive is clicking but it only happens when playing generals and that is installed on the 40gb. Any help is appreciated

I have the same problem sort of. while playing C&C gen's the harddrive will click and make noise like the power is being cut to it.
(checked for lose cables none found) but only while playing c&c.

it just strange

M00CH, Did you ever find a solution or maybe an exact cause?

Perhaps you have Power Down HD set to a certain time in your Windows Power Management settings, or in your BIOS.

For most gamers, I would disable any HD power down option in both BIOS and Windows, as it usually powers down your HD while playing, as I've noticed while playing Counter-Strike.
