I just bought a Globalwin Cak 488-t, I know it comes with that white compound, but wouldn't it be better to use arctic silver stuff. I am sorry if this is a dumb question, but I am uber paranoid when it comes to anything to do with a processor.

BTW, I am installing it on a 2200+, and I decided it was time to get something better than the amd boxed fan (or whatever you call it).

So any help would be awesome, I work at Target so I am pretty poor, and I don't wanna mess up my machine. It would be nice to see somekind of step by step installing a heatsink guide if someone could point me to one. Because it was hard to put it on last time.

Thanks

 HI DUB!

well AS3 will be better than the white compound the heatsink came with but still, if you're not planning to overclock then it doesn't matter THAT much.. But in any case AS3 will be better to use

sweet, thanks for answering... Do you think this is a good heatsink?

Thats the heatsink I have! I have used it to get an xp2400+ to 2.41Ghz and a 1600+ to 1.86Ghz! so you decide! the only problem is the fan! The 8cm fan automatically adjusts it's RPM in response to CPU temp! so at idle you are getting nearly the same temps as at full load! lol. Iam going to change mine with a better 80mm fan!
