Hey i was wondering if you could help me out. I'm new to overclocking and have some questions. I have an expensive dell xps B series. I was wondering if i could overclock it hehe and get my moneys worth. It is an intel PIII 866mhz,128rdram, 30gig hd, 64mbnvidia video card etc.....I belive it runs on the intel 820 chipset. The motherboard that runs with the rdram etc. I've even heard of possibilities overclockinc the ram as well. I have checked into the bios the computer comes with and there are not that many options in it especially when it comes to overclocking.....Lemme know what ya think. Thanks....You can email me as well.......

If it is an 866, you probably will not be able to get much of an overclock out of it. Intel chips are multiplier locked, so the only way to increase CPU speed is to up the FSB. In your case, the FSB is 133MHz. Getting it much above 133 is likely to be difficult, especially since Dell most likely did not provide you with any way to change the FSB. If you can up the FSB, you might be able to get to 140MHz, with stock compontents. If you want to make your system a lot faster, dump the videocard for a GeForceII or a ATI Radeon card. Both will give you far better performace than your current video card.
