i own 1 stick of 512mb of corsair XMS 3200 cas2. now i bought this stuff when it was a little less than 200$

i recently decided to treat myself to 1 gig to go in my 8rda+ so
i cam across some super cheap ram at http://www.hardcorecooling.us

i ended up buying the pc3200 cas 2.5 for only 74.95 and free ground shipping.

i paid with paypal, and got it today, about 4 days later and popped it in by itself.

i took out my corsair and popped in this generic stick and first
tested it at the rated voltage and speed. 200mhz, 6-3-3-2.5

ran great at 2.5vdimm, i ran looped sandra 5 times and ran p95
torture test for 30 minutes. i then bumped the vdimm up to 2.77
or 2.7 (forogot on the 8rda+)

i set the timings to 5-2-2-2, the ram runs great at this speed! this
is just as good as my 200$ stick of corsair! i tested it again with
prime95 and sandra.

i popped in my corsair and am now running 1 gig in dual channel on my 8rda+

this ram is really awesome for the price. runs at it's rated speed and then some.

it is on sale now for $71.95 with free shipping.

you can get a gig of pc3200 for under 150$!!! awesome deal!

hope this helps some weary peeps :)

Im going to get a gig of this stuff too but I havent decided if I want the 2.5 stuff or the 2ms stuff. Did you try to go any higher than 200fsb?

no, i had not done the vdd mod to my 8rda+ which is a must for higher FSB's

plus i have stock cooling on the northbridge which doesn't help.

I have been running a 3500 C2 512 MB for quite a while. It does 220 MHz 6-3-3-2 2.6 V with memtest86 loop. I am running it on a A7N8X-dlx 211 MHz 5-3-2-2 @2.6 V (concurrent prime95 + 3D mark stable).

I have been saying buy cheaper, non-overclocking memory to run at specification. There is not much difference in performance between expensive and cheaper modules running at specification. Don't waste money on expensive ones, since most memory modules (famous name or noname) should meet spec, if not get refund. Don't pay and pray for 10% memory overclocking with 30-50% more money. Save the money for other parts.

It's good memory for the price. I had the same results as Hitechjb1 with the 512 3500 cas 2.0. Also, the pc3200 cas 2.5 doesnt have free shipping. It's 6$ shipping.

Well my gig O pc 3500 is junk. i can only get 185 fsb dual sync. rma time. luckily this comapny is in connecticut and i can just bring it to them. guess i'll call them on monday. Not bad memory though. i think they just take pc 2700 sticks and take a guess as to how far they will go assuming that most people couldn't run 216 even if they wanted too.

if I buy this can I put it in with 1 stick coser 3200 xms ? becasue I have 1 stick alreayd
or should I try and sell the 1 stick of corser?

you prolly wont be able to use it in dual mode because they are different bands but it doesnt seem like running dual ddr is doing much for performance anyways. That generic ram might also hold back your fsb, so its up to you if you wanna take the risk.

Thats exactly how my ram runs. I have had 2 sticks of this pc-3500 and not one stick can even make it 400mhz and be stable no matter what i try. So its rma time.
