as the title suggests, what is the best 478cpu motherboard out there.
I have a 2.8 CPU with
1 gig of OCZ 3700EL Memory
Audigy Platinum 2 with inspire 5700 speakers
9700Pro ATI
and the hardrives... two 18gig 10,000rpms
two 80gig 7200rpmMaxtors
100gig 7200rpm IBM
so what is the best ABIT board...???

BH7 and here's why!!!!

I had (now it the box) the IT7MAX2 V2 with the P4 2.8. That chipset is now on a BH7 and i will tell you that the BH7 overclockes my 2.8 better. the IT7 was only able to go to 153fsb @3.2 and was pretty stable, but that same chipset is now at 160fsb @3.32 and is very stable my temps in the bios read 114F but my temp sensors on the chipset read 85F and 91F under full load (not sure what that would be in Celsius???) I also used a Reltek Lasor sensor gun and pointed it at the chipset under full load and i got almost the same temps!!!!. I will eventually try to push it further. But this is only my input :)

BH7
P4 2.8
Corsiar XMS PC3500 Platnium (2/5/2/2)
Antec 550 TrueControl PS (I really like this PS)
Gainward XP750 Golden Sample TI4600 (325/735) 3DMarks 15617
Maxtor 7200rpm 8Mb 80G HDD (using a ata133 pci adapter card)
SB Aduigy2
Alpha Heatsink Delta Fan FFB0812SHE quieter than the EHE

the BH7 has upto 250 in the BIOS to over clock too - PCI lock - i just got one myself and out of the box stock fans / voltage and pc3200 - right upto 176FSB now i am on! no problems @ all!

As well it does not have all the extra crap like firewire and such on the board and only ahs 1 serial ATA - so that is why it is cheaper. but i also has support for the new 800mhz FSB cpu's!

One more vote for BH7.....my 2.53 SL6S2 up to 3.4...FSB 180.
Gonna try to inch her up alittle more when I have the time this weekend!

2.53 SL6S2
BH7 @ 180 FSB
SLK900u w/Tornado 92mm
XMS 512 3500C2
Seagate 120 gb SATA
Leadtek Ti500 (anxiously awaiting availability 9800 Pro)
Audigy w/ Klipsch 4.1s
Sony FW900 24" Widescreen

I have the bh7 with a 2.4b @ 3.15 my mem scores on sandra are in the 2500's. The summary says the mem is 175 x2 @350 mhz. Is that ddr rates? And are the mem scores about right? I am used to my p4g8x in the mid 4500's.

thanks,
Cam

You're probably going to get the same answers over and over again.

IT7 Max 2 ver. 2

or BH7.

It7 Max 2 ver. 2 is a lot more expensive, and has more bells and whistles.

BH7 is a great buy for a good board if you don't need all the features found on the It7 Max 2 ver. 2.

Check out the Abit Website for information about both boards.
