Order of Operations when installing a new OS???

We can all still remeber P.E.M.D.A.S from the 8th grade but that was easy. Now is there an order of operations when it comes to installing drivers, programs, windows xp sp1, etc, etc...... On a new custom build PC?
BTW: I'm using Win XP pro build 2600

Partition(if necessary), format, OS(and SPs), mobo drivers, Directx, video drivers, asst. drivers, then progs. For a tidy setup, defrag after each item is installed. I always tend to use product drivers instaed of the Windows ones.

BTW, I dont remember P.E.M.D.A.S. Must be way too old.

thx and P.E.M.D.A.S. is the standard order of operation for all mathmatic equations. Perenthesis, exponents, multiply, divide, add, subtract. Simple really:-) if i could spell.... LOL
