When I play UT2K3 for more than about 30 minutes to an hour my FPS go from 80-90 to 14 fps. The 14 FPS does not fluxiuate it stays on 14 no matter what. I have a Radeon 9700 pro, XP 2000 768 DDR 2100, and an MSI nforce 2 motherbard.

I have 4 case fans that are all operational and when this happens the heatsink on the 9700 pro is warm, not hot but warm.

If I log out of UT2K3 and get back in its fine...

Any ideas?

do u get artifacts? when my 9000 pro overheats i get artifacts and it runs at like 6 or 7 fps. mabey your card wont get artifacts but still slows when it overheats.

I have an Antec 360 watt Power supply. I have 4 tri color fans, 2 cd roms, 1 HD and the mobo.

In regards to the artifacts, I do not get any when the FPS go down. And the reason I do not think it could be heat is becuase if I reboot the game, it works fine again? The FPS go back to normal?

*shrug*

try reformating the hard drive, or at least uninstalling the reinstalling new drivers.

I was going to wait for the 3.3 driver to come out to see if that would fix it. I never installed the 3.2. My card is about 3 months old...And this only started happening about 1 week ago? very wierd......

I probably shouldn't worry to much I dont plan on playing that game much longer...:)

mine slowed to a halt as well after about 2 hours of Unreal2 - scene lagging, and such, was so annoying! likely was cause my card was over heating as this dell has crap cooling in it.
