I found this site (http://www.tweakhardware.com/guide/hpt366/), telling me that it is possible to convert a HPT366 UDMA66 controller to RAID, just by flashing it with a "RAID BIOS"...
I was wondering if it is also possible to do this on my Abit BE6-2 mobo, since it also has the HPT366 chip on it?
Have anyone tried this, and what were the results? Any other ideas?
After reading the aforementioned article, it seems that if you want to "upgrade" your onboard HPT366 controller, you need to do some soldering. There is a link in that article that shows you how to do this.
Hope this help you out. :-)

the only way to upgrade the bios for the hpt366 is to upgrade the motherboard bios, which contains the hpt366 bios. What you would do is, save your existing motherboard bios, use a program called MODBIN to take out the hpt366 bios from the bios .bin file, then insert the new hpt368 bios, save the .bin file, and flash the bios with your new modified bios. I would warn of the extremely high risk in doing this, and also, the hpt 366 has problems with ibm 75gxp drives, bit of a pisser cos they are the best on the market, and the 368 might have these probs also. Good Luck

Thanks for the input!
I think this little project will have to wait a while then, don't want to risk anything just yet. Besides, I DO have an IBM 75gxp drive (naturally)... and I've had the darn HPT366 disabled for a while now (some months).
