Ok, Ok, ok.........ok....
Linksys came out with a 54Mbps wireless access point, this being upgraded from 11 Mbps.
Now, have they came out with a 54Mbps USB adapter, or a PCI card capable of this?

802.11g USB adaptor isnt possible - USB runs at 12Mbits/sec. This was discussed here recently.

USB1 runs at 12Mbit/s
USB2 runs att 480MBits/s
So in theory USB2 would work, but USB1 would limit bandwidth. Unless you could utilise more than one USB port at a time

Apologies, I should have clarified on the standards when posting. I believe there is only 12Mbits/sec provided for the entire USB1.1 bus, and that link is shared between any USB devices connected - hence 'bus'.
Are mobos still being made with only USB1.1 support? I'm not up to date on the current field of mobos out there.

on the usb 1 buss you are correct, but on the usb2 bus thas has 540 MB of bandwidth it will work, and most newer mb has a few usb 2 connectors. on my asus p4b533 board all of the usb ports are usb2, but they are all backwords compatible to usb1.

I'm not sure myself.

Yeah but how many new computer actually still stick with USB1.1? My mobo is getting old now, and still supports 2.0.
