Howdy all,

I've only dabbled with the P4 platforms, and I've only had
"average" systems since they were OEMs or SFF systems
similar to the Shuttle, but without overclocking features.
I'm an old skool PII guy, and I've been AMD ever since, but
I happen to have a pair of 1.8A *mobile* processors that I'd
like to build at least ONE system out of. And I might just get
a shuttle box for the second one.

Anywho, I have KILLER memory, and name brand P4 ready
Power Supplies and all that jazz, but I know next to nothing
about P4 system boards.

So my question is, whats the best, inexpensive, P4 board around
for easy overclocking, thats ROCK stable so I can give this
system to my girlfriend, and put these P4 Mobile chips to use in?

Any and all help is GREATLY apprecaited!

I've never played with a mobile CPU. If they are socket 478 and if you're trying to keep cost down to a reasonable level, maybe look at Abit BE7 or BH7 motherboards. Very solid performers with a reputation for being reliable, stable, and overclockable. Lots of good features such as USB 2.0, on-board LAN and sound, plus not much more than $100 at newegg or googlegear.

The BH7 was on the top of my list from HardOCPs review of it,
but I wanted to hear what other enthusiasts though of it, and
others before I dropped the cashola on it!

what is um..."KILLER MEMORY"...RDRAM in my opinion is KILLER MEMORY, but i've heard DDR400 is also pretty "KILLER"...and the mobo's depend on the kind memory u have

Sorry, I guess I should have clarified what memory I have.
I rather figured that RDRAM was Dead.

I have 512MB XMS-3500
I have 512MB XMS-3200
I have 512MB XMS-3200LL
I have (2) 256MB Matched XMS-3200LL
I have 512MB Hyper-X 2700
I have 512MB Hyper-X 3200
and one 512MB stick of OCZ-3200 Rev 2.1

Does that count as Killer Memory? I thought it did.

I also have some non-KILLER memory, would you like me to list
that too, just for fun?
