It's for DirectX 9.0 ...and all the benchmarks are DX9.0.

the benchmark runs a series of tests designed to stress components (in this case its a graphical test but obviously other things like CPU speeds etc will come into consideration) it then will give you a score dependant on how well your computer performed. www.futuremark.com is the site for 3dmark2003, think its about 176MB.

stress componants isnt the word for it! try bring componants to there knees! i've got a decent setup and a couple of the test just make my system crawl. i'm talken down to 3 fps in some instances!:bang head this bechmarking tool is not for the average video card. but it is a nice tool for putting a card to the test. i bought the pro version the graphics are awsome! microsoft has really upped the stakes with dx9 the use of pixell shaders in full game play is going to revolutionize the gaming industry.
nice work, hands up to FUTUREMARK!
I have a 3.2 GHZ p4 and radeon 9700 pro at 9800 pro speeds and I sometimes get down to 5 fps

no. you'll probly get less than 300 3dmarks with that MX. I had an mx420 the first time I tried it and got 120 3dmarks.
