Performance will be the same as they are the same block, just different tops. D-Tek has said that they have improved the poly tops, I am still wary of them but that is just me. I would go for the aluminum top myself...

depends on taste really, do you want to show off your comp? or is it all about performance? me i like to show mine off, so i would go poly.

has anyone even tried the new tc-4 poly top to see if it even does crack. It seems like everyone is staying away from them because of the cracking but this is a newer better material they are using. Does anyone have a tc-4 rev2 poly-top out there?!?!?

Both tops are fine. I'd get either, its the toss of a coin.

Well, I like the looks of the poly top. But according to the picture, the holes for the bolts are counter sunk or bored. I think that is more of an issue the the material used. That alone would cause me to lean towards the aluminum ones. If the picture is of the old tops and they've changed the holes, I would get the poly one. You should shoot them an email and see. Also post any info you get.

peace.

PS: if you get the aluminum top, be sure and use some type of corrosion inhibitor, even tho they are anodized.

D-Tek has totally changed the barb/threads on all the blocks. Apparently, the threading is straight now, not tapered like it was which was BAD. The new barbs have O-RINGS to seal them, no need for silicone or tape, similar to the Eheim barbs. The new polytops from D-Tek 'should' be much better than the old ones.
