Iwill slocket stuck in slot 1, can't get it out!!

I was trying to get my slocket out of my abit be6-II this weekend and I can't budge it! I had the locks on the side of the slot 1 adapter open and I tried to pull it, wiggle it, and it would not come out! Is there some trick to getting these things out, or has mine melted to the mb?! Any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks!

I have found some retainers that have small catches that hook to the heatsink plate. I stick a thin shafted screwdriver vertically between the cpu plate and the retainer, and it will release when pried gently towards the retainer.

What about the SECC2 retention clips down the sides of the retention mechanism?
