BH7 - question about 8X AGP

Well going to make the switch from an Athlon XP 2000+ w/ Abit KD-7 motherboard. Was thinking about going with the Northwood P4 2.4 and Abit BH7. Only thing is there is no 8X AGP. I have a PNY GeForce Ti4200 with 8X AGP. Would I see a performance drop with the 4X AGP on the BH7? I really don't want to spend anymore than $90 on a motherboard, otherwise I would opt for a motherboard with 8X AGP.

Right now 8x AGP is 0 - 5% faster compared to 4x AGP, so you should do just fine with the BH7!

That's what I was hoping to hear. Should have went with Intel in the first place, though. Oh well. Live and learn.

You should go look at some benchmark tests of 8x agp Geforce 4 ti4200 vs 4x agp ti4200s. The performance gain is marginal.

Cool. I already ordered the ABIT BH7, P4 2.4 Northwood, and Antec True 430W PS from newegg today. Should get it Wednesday.
