I currently have 2 15 GB IBM Deskstar, but thinking in replacing them. Now I'm limited to 192 FSB, PCI at 38, because of these drives. If I rise the FSB higher, they get bad sectors and all kind of errors, so I would like you to recomend me some brand that can work with higher PCI no probs. I don't need much storage capacity, just want a reliable, fast and not too expensive drive ;)

In my local store they have Maxtor, Seagate and Samsung. I could get a WD in Internet, but they are way too pricy, though I think they're best performers. So what would be your choice? Thanks!

seagates are supposed to handle high fsb's quite well.......though up till now they've fallen behing WD's due to the smaller cache.......however....... you can now get seagates w/ the 8mb cache, and thats what id go for

I say Maxtors, they're known to be overclock friendly, was running a RAID array at 40MHz with 2 Maxtor drives a while back, but did not keep it there for long, toned my FSB down so my PCI ended up running at 37.5MHz. Didn't get any errors while I was running at 40MHz though.
