I was thinking if we could use Casio Be-300 handheld.They are cheap have touchscreens and serialport.

I'm slowly working on a setup that'd work for that (albiet really slowly ;) ). It's a pair of proggies that reside on the handheld and the desktop, and they communicate through serial. I wrote more on it in

Yeah, you could do it if you wrote a program for the BE. It uses WinCE but has a propertiary shell; you can get an SDK from casio.

Hmm... maybe I should do this with my Pocket PC...

If there's VNC then you can probably do it without any problems or coding, really (unless VNC prevents someone from actually using the computer the way Remote Desktop does... does it?)
