Is there a compatability issue between TWINX Ram and this board? Iv heard of some stability issues.

Bios wouldn't load for me when I had my PC3700 RAM in, I borrowed a stick of my friends Corsair 512MB PC3500 RAM and bios and everything worked fine, my RAM was rated at 466Mhz, his was at 434Mhz, don't know what your RAM is at, but after getting windows installed my PC3700 works fine now. don't know if this really helps your problem though....

It does, thanks, all i wanted to know was if that RAM worked with this motherboard

Are you able to run your RAM over 400Mhz in this board (SinXP1394), I'm having a really hard time getting my Ram to run at or faster than 400Mhz. I've emailed gigabyte and they sent me to their "recommended" ram modules part of their page, some of which I've also tried in my board and still they wont' run at or faster than 400Mhz.

My Ram is 2x512MB PC3700 Geil DDR Platinum series, and it runs great as long as I don't clock it over 400Mhz. I was looking at your chart, and was going to try changing some of my ram timings, thinking that maybe thats the problem, cause you have DDR466 showing up with timings

2.5,8,3,3 to 2.5,8,4,4 I currently have mine at 2.5,7,3,3 (Geils stock specifications), When I clock it over 400Mhz I can get into windows, but games and 3DMark crash...so I'm gonna try both of those 2 settings and see if they are stable. I'll post back after trying and let you know the result

mmm, are you using TWINX? if yes you need to update your bios for TWINX ram, there was an issue with it, but now its fixed

I have the most recent bios update from Gigabyte (f6), but still have had problems, do I need to get the Twinx bios update from some other site? if so do you have a link to that site where i could download the bios update from? And I don't know exactly what Twinx is... sorry sorta a newbie here, but my Ram is Geil PC3700 DDR so Id ont' know if that can be considered to be Twinx or not

Ok so I'm guessing that I do have to do some sort of bios update, because my Ram runs fine as long as its under 400Mhz. At or above 400Mhz games crash, Here are the settings I tried and the results

For these Ram tests I had my cpu at 3.12Ghz (137x23)
