This is going to sound more complicated than it actually is:
When I am watching any form of video (DVD, DiVX, plain .mpg, or .avi) or even listening to .mp3's - the sound/video studders randomly and lasts for .025s to about 2 whole seconds depending on how fast I can get to the mouse. It wouldn't be so annoying if XViD movies with the AC3 weren't encoded at such a low volume and the studder seems to use the full volume. ?? Like it is 'tripping' or something. I suspect mouse issues, or something causing issues during the idle state.
It has nothing to do with power saving, or any screen savers as they are all turned off. It can't be a conflict of other cards as it does that when they are disabled, or completely removed.
As a big clue, it only started doing this after SP1 was released. It may also have something to do with the SB Live! drivers that are out right now, as I have read them to be quite buggish.
My system is listed in sig as is.
