Anyone heard anything on the DFI PRO875?

LANPARTY%20PRO875%20b.jpg

As you can see it's a beautiful board (I like orange), and all the slots are UV reactive. The features and specs also sound great. I'm thinking of getting this board to mate with my 2.53 SL6S2, but I have yet to see a review on it.

Right now, I'm running an Abit IT7 MAX2 (v1), and I am looking for better memory bandwidth, and it's a plus that the slots will match the UV dye that will be going into my water cooling setup.

I'm thinking of taking the plunge...

Comments?

More eye candy..

Take a look at the size of that NB heatsink and the glowing parts. Mmmmm.

And, the packaging looks great. That's one big box.

Does anyone know what these are?

look like optical data ports(digital audio), open them up and take another pic

Okay, I found out what they really are..

They are power and reset switches:

PC enthusiasts or gamers always do their overclocking and testing jobs before assembling the PC system or even never use a PC chassis. Under this circumstance, one can utilize out on-board switches. EZ ON is for switching on and off the power supply. EZ TOUCH acts as a reset switch. This is the considerate design for PC enthusiasts.

Cool, with this I won't have to use a screwdriver to jumpstart my system when it's out of the case.. :)

P.S. I just placed my order for this board!

I can't believe I'm the first person on here to comment on it and order it.

I'm thinking about ordering one of these today. I wanted to
see if anyone happens to have one right now so I can get
an idea on what the overclocking is like.

I'd be VERY disapointed if it doesn't have a 5:4 Proc/Memory
ratio or something of the sort...because I intend to push my
little P4 Mobile 1.8 up to 3Gig!! I'm at 2700Mhz right now on a
BH-7 and I'm almost positive it's the DDR holding me back!

Nah, I just broke down and ordered one this morning with Next
Day Air.

I have a LAN party this weekend, and I've got a new clear
case that I've already loaded with Orange UV fans and UV
Cold Cathod Fan Grills, AND painted the Power Supply red.

I just need to finish wrapping all the fan leads and connectors
in UV reactive Yellow and I'll be set!

Hopefully New Egg is on the ball and I get this Friday!

If you're still curious I downloaded the manual and found this info:

It doesn't specifically say what ratios it has, but it seems to suit the need you described.

Just out of curiosity, where's your LP? My wife has family near you in Carol Stream (I live in Southern IL). I remember hearing about a huge one in Champaign, but I don't remember when it was.

Hopefully New Egg is on the ball and I get this Friday!

Aren't they always? :)

I help host a Bi-Weekly lan party at www.chicagolanparty.com

We run a mainpage at www.midwestlanparty.com

The LAN party I'm speaking of this weekend is at

www.lotl.cc

Lan of the Lost ROCK! But they are about an hour from me,
probably further from you if you're considering going to
Champaign.

Hopefully this mobo won't suck...I've been through a lot of
AMD boards lately and have been dissapointed with their
shortcomings...I'm trying out P4s for a bit now.

I've returned anything I was not happy, whatever the reason. And, I have had 0 problems with newegg taking stuff back.

Ok, I got the board. I'm installing it now, but I'm not sure if I
want to drop in my 2.2 P4 2002 week 33, or my P4 mobile
that I *KNOW* does 220FSB.

I think I'll try the Mobile first and see what happens...it's just
such a pain with a clear case and Swiftech to be swapping
ANYTHING on this setup!

I got my board today, too. The packaging is excellent! Unfortunately, I won't have time to set it and my water cooling rig up until the weekend. I do need 1 more ATA cable, though. Ahh, I'll just use a black one for my DVD writer.

I got bad news brother.....unless this is a SNAFU because
I'm using a P4 Mobile chip....this motherboards "incrimental"
Mhz adjustment tells me it goes from 100Mhz to 132Mhz.

SCREW THAT!!!

I'm going to try a 533Mhz 2.2 later on tonight. I'm too ****ed to
see straight right now...I'm hoping that I missed something...

Ouch.. I hope that's not the case. If the board does not meet your ecpectations newegg will pay return shipping if you push the issue, but you have to call them. You could also try a quick call to DFI support.

Yep, I looked at it twice.
FSB adjustment from 100-132.

NOT COOL.

I'm wondering what the FSB ajustment would be for a 133FSB
P4. It's just such a pain to get this Swiftech unbolted...(Sigh)

Well, since I'm the first kid on the block and I had to prance
around in excitement, I'll have to get off my *** and see if I
can save others from a possible bad purchase.

I just searched every nook and cranny of their web page and
the only (slightly) reassuring thing I see is that they have a
"performance bios" for the KT400 that's "geared towards the
enthusiast".

So maybe they will have something of the sort for our board.
Other then that...it looks like I paid for Next Day air for a
total dud.

I hope you at least plug in your mobo and test it to make sure
I'm not missing something. But thus far, I'm VERY dissapointed.

Just tested it, Raven. Guess What? Yep, on my P4 2.53 it only allows a max 165 FSB. I looked everywhere, too. So, NO, you're not missing anything, unfortunately. I'm calling DFI if I can find a number, and asking about the possibility of a BIOS update. We KNOW this board can do 200FSB and probably a little more, but it does not make sense to market a board to the enthusiast and only allow you to OC the FSB 32mhz.. GAY!

If I don't get a satisfactory response from DFI I'm sending it back.

Yet another boring update.

Ok, I talked with Tech support. Or at least I *think* I did.
The guy hardly spoke english, and he kept confusing himself
to the point where I was correcting him when he would tell
me something wrong.

His response "well, I've got the same mobo here in front of me
now, it's got a P4 2.4 and it has FSB adjustment from 133-165"

I explain that I'm on a 100Mhz FSB processor and that
confused the hell out of him. So I had to translate. I said
"OK you are running a 533FSB processor right?"

His Responce "No, I'm running a 533FSB Processor"

(sigh)

I clarified and explained that I'm running a 400Mhz FSB processor
and he just kept repeating that "he has overclocking features
from 133-165"

Then he goes on to say "Maybe you need to adjust your
Multiplier"

A few more comments like that and it boiled down to....

Then he told me the typical blow off "you need to update your
BIOS". I told him that my BIOS is 03/31/03, the same one thats
on the web board. and he said...and I'm not kidding
"Oh no, update it anyways...this one is newer, but the date
won't change".

So I figure I'll give him the benefit of the doubt. I figured, maybe
the updated the BIOS TWICE that day, and a bunch of boards
got out and into the wild with the first Rev of that days BIOS
rather then the second. So I thanked him and went and updated
my BIOS.

Low and behold...same friggen thing. So now I'm livid.

I pulled out my P4 2.2 that's in a nother system...it's not an
overclockers chip, but I figured I'd give it a push and see what
it says.

Sure enough, the FSB adjustment is from 133-165.

Do you see a pattern here?

Now I wonder if I put a 400Mhz FSB chip on this board, do I
get from 200 to 205? LOL

Oh, and the VDIMM goes from 2.6 to a whopping 2.7

Screw this, if they don't have an updated BIOS in one week,
I'm returning it to NEW EGG with a note suggesting that they
update their web page to say "Limited Overclocking Features".

I LOVE the features on this board, and it looks KILLER, but DFI
apparently had NO CLUE what an enthusiast wants, and their
tech support is quite llama.
