Abit Springdale at Newegg

Yeah the IS7-G looks to be the same as the IC7-G without the PAT and ECC support that comes with the 875. I was kind of hoping they would implement PATA RAID on the Springdale boards instead of SATA RAID. But I guess you can always use the SATA channels with PATA drives with those serrilel adapters.

Is there any performance degradation caused by those adapters?

BTW, here's a link to Abit's 865 boards: http://www.abit-usa.com/products/mb/intel865.php

I was hoping the same thing regarding the RAID offerings, baraka.

There isn't a performance loss with using the adapters. But it will add a chunk to the cost of the setup. You could buy a PCI RAID card for the cost of two adapters, which brings the benefit of onboard RAID into question.

And I found the successor to the IT7 MAX2. It's an 875 board and like the IS7 only comes with S-ATA RAID only.

Care to speculate on the price for that baby? I'll be amazed if it comes in for less than $260.

It's already out. Try $245.50 shipped 2nd Day air from Googlegear.

baraka, I think I remember that name from my countless hours at the arcade playing MK3.

One of the reasons I just bought the DFI PRO875 is because it does have PATA RAID, too.

Looks like Abit's Springdale boards are no longer for sale at Newegg. They don't show up at all. Neither do MSI's Springdale boards.

I guess Newegg got the word that these boards aren't supposed to be for sale until May.

I received mine today (IS7). But you know what sucks? I'm out of AS3 till tomorrow :( I'll post a new thread after a day of benchmarking, or just add to any that pop up in the next day or so with my results.
