I don't think there has been enough real world testing for anyone to pick one over the other at this point.

I personally prefer ASUS, so I ordered the P4C800 that will be in on Friday. The 2.6C should be here by the end of next week.

We shall see. ;)

The IC7-G is definitely the better choice if you have the money, however I prefer the Gigabyte 8KNXP over both. Although ASUS is still my favorite MB manufacturer, their current 875 is feature deficient.

Hey, I'm not attempting to persuade you to get a different board. I think you should look into all of your options and not base your entire decision from one person's account.

I'll tell you this--the IC7-G and the 8KNXP are almost identical in specs. You should go compare the specs when you have the time, but there isn't much of a difference.

I recommend you read this Anandtech review of the Giga-Byte 8KNXP Ultra to see some benchmarks compared to the IC7-G and P4C800 Deluxe. The 8KNXP Ultra and the regular 8KNXP should have the same scores. The 8KNXP Ultra is $400~450 because it has onboard SCSI support which you probably don't need. The 8KNXP (not ultra) has the same specs except it doesn't have the SCSI support, but it does add 2 more SATA ports (Silicon Image Raid 0, 1, 0+1?) and it also has onboard firewire. The Ultra doesn't have those 2 extra features =(.

Anyways, read the article and make your decision. You might also want to try to find some more reviews.

You guys keeps saying ASUS guys made wrong choices with P4C800, but so far, all the test I could read put the ASUS board on top of every other i875 based boards. Am I missing something or what?

Well i have heard alot on the IC7-G and not so much on the gigabyte or the asus, i think i might go with the Abit IC7-G board. Thanks for all the help guys/gals.:)

What exactly is your point? Speed isn't everything. Besides, the giga-byte matches the asus and abit in speed.

I'm not going into the 'Asus vs Abit' game. It's just as stupid as the NVidia vs ATI or Intel vs AMD.
What I want is the best mobo available, I don't care about the manufacturer.
Apparently Abit and Asus solutions are very close. ASUS is still some few % above in general, and although its O/C options are fewer, it seems like ABIT is not match for ASUS (yet) which is quite funny after all I heard here about how great Abit is for O/C and how ASUS sucks for that.

Please don't misconstrue the situation. I never intended entering an "ASUS v Abit" war. I have owned motherboards from Abit, ASUS, and Giga-Byte, thus I'm not loyal to a single company.

Personally I do not care if the P4C800 is 1% faster in synthetic benchmarks. You will never notice the difference. Therefore you should try to get an 875P motherboard with nice features and good speed (which all of them do have similar speed). But if you want a mainstream board get the ASUS. I'm not saying it's a bad board, but it simply doesn't offer as much as some of the competition, currently.

Hell i dunno which board i should get.
Flip a coin. You won't be wrong with any of the three.
Gigabyte, Abit, Asus - Oh the pains of choice. :bang head

But those pains don't compare to having the P4C800 sitting here on my desk
waiting on the 2.6C to ship. :burn:

Or what about my pain

I have 2 Seagate Barracuda 7200.7 Plus 160GB SATA drives sitting on my desk waiting for raid, but the 8knxp hasn't come in yet. It should be here tomorrow though =)
