Just, and I mean just, got finished installing all the hardware, drivers, etc... man, I hate doing that. Took me a good four hours to get everything accomplished, but she's runnin like a champ so far. I did do a quick little test OC, just to make sure it would be better than my previous GigaByte board, and it is.. Easily did 11 x 175, and 12 x 170 on standard voltage, which isn't anything to write home about, but my GigaByte sure wouldn't do it.

Also, ran through the bios real quick. Multies of 5 to 18 are available, and fsb's all the way up to 250 MHz in 1 MHz steps.
I need to let all the hardware settle in for a few days, but I'll be shooting for 200fsb eventually. I need to double check my bios version too. So much to do!! AHHH!! :D

I'll post more later on, but if ya have some questions, lay'em on me, and I'll get back with you.

Just a quick update...

Of course I'm taking my time with overclocking, and I'm preparing to move closer to my goal of 12 x 200.

-Currently running 12 x 180 with no problems. I'm still clinging to the idea that this board can do 200fsb right out of the box, so we'll see. I shouldn't have any piece of hardware limiting me (finally).

Just finished 3Dmark2k1 benchies..

standard settings for 2700 are 13 x 166 = 15500 3Dmark
overclocked settings of 12 x 180 = 15800 3Dmark
overclocked settings of 11 x 190 = 15450 3Dmark
overclocked settings of 11 x 195 = 16023 3Dmark (big jump there, not sure why)
overclocked settings of 11 x 200 = 16085 3Dmark
9700Pro softmod & 11 x 200 = 16474 3Dmark
9700Pro softmod & 11.5 x 200 = 16660 3Dmark
9700Pro softmod & 12 x 200 = 16824 3dmark

I also fired up WCPUID and was pleased to see the Soltek's are using the latest C1 stepping.

I also found a thorough review at HardOCP

Bumped the voltage to 1.725, and lowered the multi to 11.

Now running 11 x 190 - looking to be stable so far.

Onward and upward after I run through a few tests.

-edit- Sitting at 11 x 195 right now.. my smile is beginning to grow. :)

time for more tests..

sandra memory benchmark is 2944. Still using aggressive timings of 2-2-2-5-1T.

Hopefully someone is interested in all this. If not, I got myself a nice little history of my OC effort. LOL..

booyah.. 11 x 200!! Considering I could never get my 2700 over 175 with my previous Gigabyte board, I'm pretty happy (although I do realize I bascially bought a 2100b core for almost $300 LOL - last Nov prices!).

I still need to run 3Dmark and make sure it doesn't blow up on me, but it's looking good so far.

Voltage was 1.725 at 11 x 195, but when I upped to 11 x 200, I increased the voltage to 1.75.

If someone has a server, and is willing, I'd like to send you an email with all the pics, so other's can see the results. thanks!

I think 12 x 200 might be outta my range because of temps. Idle now is 39c, load is ~43c.

Here's a compare link for 3Dmark2k1 - Link

Just finished doing the 9700Pro to 9800Pro softmod.

3Dmark2k1 increased to 16474 from 16052, which is about the norm for an increase.

Here's a compare link

-update-

Bumped the multi to 11.5 from 11. Now running 11.5 x 200fsb = 2300MHz - Woot!! :D
