Just get a chance to seem my buddy setup his RAID on NF7-S with SATA adapter on WD 60g BB. Damn.. Sandra only give it 2300/s.. It s*cker then my ATA 133 8mb cach on single drive.
 
many issues can couse that.
first is sandra can act up and report wrong.try atto to confirm performance.
defragging can fix some issues.
strip size used is a big one also. i use 16mb stipes i think.
also check the abit threads about the corruption issues going around.supposedly its fixed with a new driver and a bios flash that the controller needs.i posted all my findings in the thread also.

there is something not right tho i agree. also i take a big hit under xp pro and gain in win2kpro.
