I am getting ready to purchase an ASUS A7N8X Deluxe mb and have decided to go along with the PC400. Now i need to know the difference between a few things so that I can move on to the purchase. First off, what is CAS and CL and what do they refer to or should i say what's better lower numbers or higher numbers? Next, what is Timming and what does it do for the overall system performance? Last what voltage should I be going for and is there anything else i should be looking for in a memory module such as brand name etc...?

Thanks for your help!

First off, i too was about to buy that motherboard and i hated it when people told me what i am about to tell you but.

You should get an abit nf7-s (usually v2.0 now days which is good)

Ironicly mainly for this one reason which comes down to your ram

FSB, look at my sig, most a7n8x's dont get over 200...from what i've seen

Anways all those things are timings, the lower the timing the better the ram usually.

I'd get crosair 3200 as you can tell from my sig ;)

Yes I agree, You should get an NF7-S rev. 2.0 with Corsair XMS3500 mem.
