View Full Version : Question - pls help
hi there, i have duron 650@715(6.5*110) w/ gigabyte 7zx mobo
i just want to ask :
1. Is there any software that can change multiplier settings ? because 7zx cant change multiplier settings.
2. After using my comp for several hours, my motherboard temp up to 42 C and my cpu up to 54 C, it is safe ?
3. Is there any possibilities to use FSB 133mhz in gigabyte 7zx mobo ? (VIA KT133)
thanks a lot
any answer will be very appreciated.

Unfortunately there isnt any easy way to change the multipliers, however if you dig around on www.tomshardware.com in the overclocking athlon stuff you can find the way to modify the chip to change them. Your temps are a little warm, but not out of line with that I'd expect from a generic heat sink/fan combo. No KT133 chipset board will come close to running the FSB at 133 because of limitations in the northbridge and/or PLL chips. Try stepping up your FSB and you'll get some speed, but not a whole lot.

All that your cooling needs is a couple of case fans. If you dropped you case temp by 15 degrees, that would probably drop your CPU temp by about that much as well. My system has 3 90mm fans in it, and the case temp stays within 1 degree of ambient temp :)

Right now my MoBo is setting out on the desktop naked without a case...... So my case temps are ambient :O
