I'm very new to overclocking, I have only OCed my old k6-2 before. I was just wondering what increasing your cpu core-voltage does.
And i also wanted to know how fast I could get my t-bird 1ghz. Its on a Asus A7v, 128 vc-133 ram, hercules 3d prophet geforce2 32mb ddr, maxtor ata-100 20gb hdd
increasing the core voltage makes your processor hotter. =P
Sometimes, it also allows your processor to be stable at higher bus speeds

Your going to need to increase your voltage to get a good overclock, you cant go to high withought bumping up the volts unless you start with a really fast chip working at a slow speed. Try not to up your voltage more then necisary though, becuase as jeff said, increasing voltage also increases heat. There is nothign wrong with increasing the heatif you have good cooling though, try to stay under 50C and you'll be fine, lil higher, your ok but work on it if you can. Id never go higher then 55c, actually if I was at 55c I'd buy a new fan, but you would still be ok at 55c ;D
