T-Bird Memory Requirements???

I have two sticks of PNY PC100 SDRAM each 128mb for a total of 256. I want to buy a T-Bird 1000, but read on one site that I needed PC133 memory. I have an Abit KT-7 RAID (Love it). Can anyone tell me if this memory will work, or will I have to get new PC133 (In which case, I'll stick with my Duron 600@850). This system will not be Overclocked, so I just need to know if the memory will run, or if it will be too slow for a 1ghz CPU. What adverse affects would this memory have on a 1ghz system.

well if you turn your mem down to the 100mhz bus instead of 133 oin your mem then you should be ok

Sorry Arsekicker...didn't understand your message. So you think I can use standard PC100 memory with a T-Bird 1ghz? What would I do to "turn it down?" It should be running at 100 now. I never O/C'd the FSB, only the CPU multiplier and voltage on the Duron. Just needed to know if standard PC100 will run with the T-Bird 1ghz. Thanks.

It will work, you just wont get the performance that you would with faster mem.

im talking about you can turn your memery up and down seperate from FSB

just set it to 100mhz and you can run a 1.2 gig t bird if you like

By default, your memory should be running at 100MHz, if you go into bios, you should have the option of HSTCLK, or HSTCLK+PCICLK, or something very similar to that. Host clock is just the fsb, (100MHz), host clock + pci clock should set your memory to 133 MHz.

btw, you might also want to turn on 4-way interleaving, just to get the most from it.
