Im going from a Shuttle AK32, with 512 of PC150, yes PC150, NOT DDR. (With a 1700+ @ 2200 (13.5x133, thats the best this mobo and memoy combo could do)) TO:

A Epox 8RDA+ with Crucial Extreme memory, 512mgs (1 stick for now, i dont have the money for 2 sticks of dual channel)

I would think I could get it to at least something like:

13.5x150 or 11x180 or something crazy like that...

We'll see!!!:D :D

I got the Board from newegg for 92 dollars, and the memory from googlegear for 104.00, Great prices.

Tell me what you think

Is your CPU a Palamino or Tbred (A or B)? How far you are able to overclock it will depend on what type it is.

T-bred.

B im pretty sure,

I had it a 150x 13.5 but it was unstable, and it is also unstable all he way to like 135, so i just left it at 133, I think it was my memory or motherboard, the reason im getting a new mobo is cuz this one isnt working n e more... ( RIP.... yeah right)

Depending on whether it is a DUT3C or a DLT3C Tbred B, you should be able to reach 2.0 - 2.4 GHz. Either way, you should see a very nice improvement from your previous motherboard.

Wow you must be rich!!

It is.....

AXDA1700DUT3C

JIUCB

Is this is a good chip?

I got it when the craz of 1700's came from newegg at like 70 bucks about 2 months ago.

The 13.5 multi x 150 FSB you were using was that on the Shuttle or the Epox?

That was on the shuttle, but it wasnt stable at al until like 143, even then, running prime or some real intense program it would lock.

Im pretty sure it was the memory, but the chipset did fell quite warm after I shut it off.

Question:

Do I have to do anything to the mobo on a 8rda+?

Like a chipset fan swap?

I saw it came with a HSF, but is that good enough?

Adam

Edit:
Im on a old computer, but when the mobo gave up, it was @ 13.5x133 = 1800mhz

When you say not stable do you mean no boot because I cant understand how you would get a multi of 13.5 from a XP1700 on a Shuttle AK32 which is a KT266 chipset and doesnt recognise all 5 bits of the multi. (A multi of 13.5 means the 8x bit is set to high whereas an XP1700 at default has the 8x bit set to low) so I cant see how you can get a 13.5 multi unless you modded the cpu ?

Exactly, I cut and "patched" some of the L3 or L5 bridges on the chip, I forgot which one it was though.

13.5 x133 worked the best with stock voltage so I just stayed with that.

@ 150 it would get into windows some times, other times it would give me the blue screen (XP), @ 143, it would run, but in games and Prime it would run for anywhere from 1min-1hour and it would lock.
