Whats the best value for money HSF out there, bearing in mind I really don't want my PC to sound like a jet plane!! Are there any UK sites that sell these things as I'm a UK resident.
I'm gonna wait to unlock my CPU until I've got my cooling situation sorted. I'm running my TBird900 at 1.75v, with temps of 47C idle and 51 loaded with a Coolermaster fan and rear exhaust fan. I figure as soon as I oc then these will shoot over accepted limits so I'd like to get the temps down to high 30's/low 40's before I start.
Also, what can I expect to realistically achieve? In my dreams I'd like near 1.1ghz although I'd be more than happy with anything over 1ghz as this'll be my first overclocking experience.
Thanks guys

Hey squeaker, recently i have purchased a tbird 1ghz and i ran into the same question. After extensive research i have discovered that the absolute best form of air cooling is the Agilent Arcticooler. Not only does this little orb style fan perform better than the monstrous Alphas but it also is almost silent. So for conventional air cooling Agilent's Arcticooler is the best. Now if you are thinking of going extreme with a peltier form of cooling forget the Arcticooler and get an Alpha, the Arcticooler is just to small to dissipate all the heat produced by a peltier element. Now we come to the problem I cant find this little hsf anywhere so if you run into it please tell me.

Tony,
From my research so far I've come to the following conclusions:
1. Globalwin FOP38 - nice price but too loud - no go
2. Alpha PA6035 with Sanyo Denki Fan - effective, quiet unit but nearly £40 from overclockers.co.uk!
3. Arctic Arcticooler - good but impossible to find
4. Globalwin FOP32-1 - cheap, decent performance but only AMD approved to 1ghz. Is this enough for 900 TB that I'd like to take to1.1ghz?
5. Thermaltake Superorb - cheap but loud with moderate performance.
The only other alternative is the AlphaPEP66 but I don't know about the noise level, price or availability in the UK. Which one have you gone for or are you still looking? Are there any other decent UK sites? I'd like to spend no more than £25 on a quiet unit that I can obtain from a UK site.
Ta.

Sorry, there's also the Taisol CEK734, with which some guy on the CPU database says he has got 1.1ghz with a 900TB.
