Applying the thermal coumpound

Hi guys,

I just ordered a GlobalWin FOP32-1 cooler and some thermal coumpound. I was wondering, should I apply the thermal coumpound on the core of the cpu only or all over it?

Just applying a thin layer of the thermal compound on the die will have the best effect.
