Just my thoughts. But if AMD chips are less sensitive to super cooling. From what I have seen, they are less sensitive to cooling in general. In other words, the only cooling you need to do is to stop it burning out. Whether it's -30 or +60, overclocks the same?

Intel chips on the other hand are very sensitive to heat. This is good for supercoolers, knock it down 10 degrees and you have a better overclocker, or stick a better HSF on and get a better more stable overclock. But what about when summer comes around and your chip overheats by 2 or 3 degrees more due to higher room temperature. It starts crashing! It's more sensitive - you won't get this with an AMD.

AMD = More Stable.

Intel = More Overcock.

just my unrefined babbling thoughts. comments?

i wouldnt say a intel overclocks better than a AMD
we havent had va board with anything stable over 110 to 115 bus

now we have new chipsets coming out going to let us in the 150 FSB rtang

now i have seen duron 600's running 1100+mhz with air cooling

how do you figure intel clocks better

maybe with water and a peltier where AMD need a good air cooler to out perform those peltier/water combs on intel's chips

as for cooling

the cooler you make it (amd) the better it overclocks too

i got 66 mhz more by lapping my cpu and heatsink

because my temp drop 15F

just they are stabler @ a high temp donsent mean more cooling isnt going to work

ALL ELECTRONICS when there cooler they perform better !!!

as I said. Just my drunken babble. I thought it didn;t make much sence. I don't comletley agree with what you say. What I mean is, to a super cooler, intel is probably a better option. But the main emphasis of my post was to say, that they are less suseptable to temperature change from weather et.c. Which is a good thing.

wll as i see it mr spode i have seen quite a few AMDs breaking the 1200mhz marks

seen a water cooled 750 t bird overclocked to 1336mhz

intel chips dont run much over 1100mhz

and intel has no performance compaired to AMD

my t bird is performing ALOT better than my intel that was at a higher FSB and clock speed when overclocked and this t bird 950 i have kicks its azz all over the place
go figure

my intel was a P3 700 @ 1008

my AMD TBrid 850 @ 950 killed that intel chip

heehee

got it running now @ 1035mhz

and i still have a cool master cooler
cant wait for a orfio

im hoping with it and the voltage mod that 1100mhz will come

anyone else notice that the clock gen on these A7V's get really hot like the P3V4X boards

wonder if a HS/Fan will help FSB speed

I agree azzkicker. I would never think of trading my AMD for an intel. They may overclock more in % but still don;t come close. I am in the middle of doing some watercooling on my amd, and I reckon it will actually make a difference. If I let it sit their in idle and can get to -3, I can post at 1150 compared to the 1000 I am using. I am going to get a bigger peltier and hope.,
