Have I retarded this information or has Toms Hardware said that blue cores are made in Austin TX with alluminum and the green in Densen GER of copper? AT www5.tomshardware.com/business/00q2/000608/fab30-03.html Isn't copper the superior constructing material and isn't the blue core the most desired? 4cryin'outloud I am totaly frickin' confused on this issue, I want the BEST. The IWILL266-R is on the way and I can't find the Thundy 1000Mhz I need. Yes, plz throw at me whatever knowledge you folks have on this... I'm beat from hunting down articles, info and retailers with the best price on I'm not sure - what. Thank You, Respectfully, COZY

if you can get a blue core AMD then get it because it will overclock better

Actually Blue cores are made in Dresden Fab with copper interconnects, with the exception of the durons, they make some durons there and they're blue cores, but they are NOT copper interconnects as no durons are. The blue tbirds are the only ones that are special, the coloring of the core just lets you know what fab it came from, but any tbird from dresden was made with copper interconnects.

Okay, Thanks folks but look at the message from this vendor when I asked him about these core colors. If possible could a member throw me a link or address where I can read up and/or shop for these special blue meanies? ... oh well, I don't yet have the knohow about putting an e-mail insert to these pages but he said the blues were superior except that there was no possible way to discern what chip was made where. www.joef@tcwo.com with sales dept at Thompson's Computer Wharehouse Outlet. The man says the color only indicates the color put on the ceramic, is he just trying to sell me a greenie and is it really that hard to find a blue core?

no guarantees here, only this tidbit....if you buy <950mhz tbird, you are more likely to get a green austin chip.......>950mhz,more likely to get dresden blue...........

hope this helps

Every Blue Meanie ive ever heard of in a tbird was a super good overclocker. I believe that ANY tbird with a blue core is the good stuff, however 950 and ups are mostly blue because they have to be, around 1ghz it becomes VERY hard for aluminum interconnect technology to transmit the signal cleanly. Ideally you want like a 750-800 blue meanie because its cheaper and very likely to get into the 1ghz ball park. As far as anyone knows blue durons are real dresden pieces, but do not use copper because no duron does <no need at current yield speeds being sold>.

1.1s and up are BLUE for sure. 1 GHz are probably BLUE. 900 MHz are almost all green. Can't speak for 950s.

Is there a place where you can enter your serial and find out what you have?
