Would taping over the pencil connected L1 bridges enhance multipler unlocking? Pencil marks work for a while only.

Don't be afraid to get a little graphite on the bridges. Rub the pencil back and forth several time till it leaves a shiny line. Make sure you cover the entire dot with graphite too. If you do it correctly it will last a very long time. Another possibility is the silver conductive pens. I would try scotch tape, and if it works, try coating the bridges with polyurethane.

it would be better to use conductive paint, which can be found at auto stoes, used to repair defrost traces on windshields. alot more permanent than pencil lead.

but if you insist on using lead, use the
hardest lead you can find.(more conductive). a regular #2 pencil does not work very well (if at at all). 5h is recommended.

the only downside I can think of with using scotch tape is that it might start to melt or burn being so close to the core.

just my $.02 :-)

Hmmm...my CPU has a "warranty sticker" on the back. When my CPU gets really hot (ex when my heatsink was not attached firmly, good thing I caught that in time) it starts to get discolored. I'd be a little cautious about putting tape on there for the same reason, although I doubt it can hurt much. So far, my pencil hasn't worn off once.

Just get a defogger repair kit from autozone for $7 .It's easy and permanant,it won't wear off.
