synchronous and asynchronous ram

Whats all this talk about running ram synchronously and asynchronously. I know that synchronously operation is much better for performance. I recently purchase a 1700+. I know that it has a FBS of 133mhz but I plan to use pc3500 ram. I can still overclock and run the ram frequency and the FBS synchronously...right?

yep. you can run either, actually. but async only benifits p4's - it does nothing for athlons, so keep it in sync and start overclocking!
