View Full Version : HELP!! My Tbird is running TOO HOT even if I don't O/C!!!
Can somebody help me please.. my cpu is been getting TOO HOT and it shuts down my pc (and even at this time that i have the settings at default No O/C) ... even when my pc is IDLE it gets too hot. I have two different heatsink fans ( http://www.ocaddiction.com/articles/realorbs/chromeOrb.jpg and http://www.coolermaster.com/products/cpucooler/fcpga/map/dp5-6h51.jpg
If anybody can help me I really appreciate it... I don't know what to do, cause the same thing happend with both fans.
The temperature starts going up from 40C to 50C and it shuts down at around 52C..... :( someone help me please

To things, are you putting the heatsink on the right direction, next, are the fans working on the heatsinks?? Let me explain the backwards heatsink installation, if it is reversed, the pressure point for the heatsink will not be on the top of the CPU core, but instead off to one side of it. It you look at the retention spring, the pressure point is off center, the pressure point should be right on top of the CPU core. On the Coolermaster heatsink it has one side that is machined deeper, this side goes to the part of the socket that has the pivot in it to open and lock the CPU into the socket. As for the fans not working, verify that the header you plug the fan into actually works the fan, could be bad fan header. Check the voltage to the CPU in the BIOS before booting, if you can monitor this in the BIOS. Lastly, you could have a bad board or CPU.

Looks like a cooling problem...
Also if you are using a Peltier, your heatsink is probably too small and is causing a thermal feedback loop to develop.
