View Full Version : Want the gig
I am running a Duron 600 in an Abit kT7 (non-raid) mobo. It seems to max out at 112x8.5, 952 Mhz. I am using an OCZ Dualie HSF and running at my I/O voltage at 3.8 and my VCore at 1.85. Im idle at 41 and under load at 46. What can i do to hit a gig. I have tried about every combination i can think of and it wont get it.
Please help!

my best advise, is to keep the speed you have and enjoy.......if you go higher, the risks increase dramatically!
but if you insist, i would suggest a special thermal heatsink compound(artic silver or similar), along with the closed L1 jumpers done wiyh pemanent conductive material( such as conductive paint or defrost repair kit).
also. a good fan/heatsink and case ventilation is a must!
cya
well other than the artic silver thermal paste i got it all, so i guess i will live with it until i get water cooling,
thanks
You can also do the voltage mod to increase the voltage from ~1.85 to a tiny bit over 2 volts. This will probably let you hit the ghz mark, but you will definilty need a good cooler for this, like an alpha or watercooling.

is the link for the voltage mod
Hey bud, me and a buddie just built a system using the Duron 700 and Abit KT7 and hit a gig easily using 100x10 and increased the voltage to get it stable. I think it is set to 1.825v and he is using one of those core crushing chrome orbs. LOL. I think those durons o/c better using the multipliers instead of such a high FSB. But if you like higher FSB, cause it will improve overall proformance, try using 105x9.5 that should give you 998mhz, or just stick with 100x10, it worked for him.
oh yeah i tried 9.5 x 105 and 10 x 100. Nothing going. I figure i will have to do a voltage mod and get water cooling to get 1 Ghz. Oh well
