Any opinions/review links as to it's performance. I know, the price is ridiculous.

this is a CAD card and a major dissapointment for gaming, it has quality optimized drivers so your framerates will plummet but damn it's gonna look pretty if you get one

In games, you will get frame rates equal to about a GF2 card, however, for things like CAD and the like, you will smoke any gaming card on the market ;)

That's absolutely not true. The QuadroFX 2000 will perform just a little bit slower than the FX 5800 in games.

Take a look. (http://www.3dchips.net/main/modules.php?name=Content&pa=showpage&pid=83&page=17)

i would have to agree here... however the similarities of the gf line and quadro line are slowly separating, they are still very similar and will have similar performance to their counterparts. they are just slightly slower due to the professional enhancements...

Okay,
Once again:
professional cards are made for quality.
Gaming cards are made for speed.
The FX is a gaming chipset... thus it has fancy drivers and a couple extra traces on the PCB.
It will perform close to a 5800 because all that is truly different is the driver. You can convert a 5800 to a quaddro with relative ease. Thus it is not that great for professional applications.
For that, a 3Dlabs card is great. Measuring in at a whopping ~750 3Dmarks (2001se) they provide the best quality of any card around, and absolutely suck for gaming.
The quaddro is a glorified gaming card, not worth the money.
