I just got a Duron 700 for my second computer, and am having trouble overclocking it. I used a mechanical pencil to close the L1 switches, and all the multipliers in between 700-950 don't seem to be unlocked. Beyond that works, but I can't get this Duron to post Windows at 950. Has anyone else had this happen with any recent Durons?

Hey there

It looks like the bridges for the 750-950 multipliers didn't get a good connection from the pencil. So just erase those pencil marks and try again and again until you succeed. Some poeple suggest getting a pencil from an art store with a higher graphite contect.

Neebie here, where are the bridges for the multipler on the chip? I know it is not L1 or L7. That would be great to know as that may be my problem in the need for more speed.

Opps, about my previous reply. It it the L1 bridge.

Definately the L1 Bridges.
Definately use a high carbon pencil, problem being the lead is then soft, and chunky.
The best way to go is get a conductive pen from your local electronics store, or car accessories place for repairing circuit boards or rear demisters on car windows. Works really well and is more permanant woth no problems.
Use a pin head to apply the stuff.
