I am in need of any information about overclocking with this mobo. I've tried using Fuzzy Logic and Soft SFB but the software won't even detect an exsisting clock and frequency. I am pretty new to this, so some thorough explanation may be required. Cooling is not a problem, I have three 40mm fans attached to a hug heatsink on my CPU and the case has four more fans in it. My temp monitor registers the CPU at 26 degrees Celcius. I'm not looking for much, I just want to prove to myself it could be done! Thanks in advance for any input.

I also have a slot A athlon, but then a 500MHz one, running at 750 at the moment. Your looking for something that isn't there: muliplyer adjustment in your bios. It is a special feature, only supported by some of the SOCKET A motherboards, for instance the A7V, abit KT7 etc. I assume you know what a multiplyer is, your CPU's is 8,5. multiplyer x busspeed = cpu speed. so in your case 8,5x100=850. In the bios you can only upgrade the bus speed, but in most of the cases it won't go above 112, in my case not above 107. What you need is a Goldfinger Device, or a GFD. It's a device plugged on top of your cpu on the debug port. In order to see it you have to remove the black case from your cpu, which can be risky if you don't do it good. Read some more on the web site and go visit http://home.earthlink.net/~harryc56/AMD_OC_FAQ/Athlon.html , a site with a how-to. If you purchase a GFD, I advice you one without the need for external voltage, they are simple to use and perform like all the other ones. I use tweaking device 2, or TD2, it's a real good one.

Succes, Rob }>

DISCLAIMER: Before doing this I recommend you read your MoBo manual CAREFULLY, wrong settings in your bios can cause your computer to stop booting or posting! For more info read the how-to's on the homepage. All together, this is how it is done:

In case you want to keep it simple at first, and not crack open your athlon, the FSB setting is most simple in your bios. Search for FSB setting, which most probably is on auto, set it to manual. Then increase the FSB in LITTLE increments, like 100 -> 101 reboot, see it system is stable, and again increase. Somewhere near 110 you run into trouble. In most cases you system will boot but lock up later. Then go a little bit back. When you go to far and system won't even POST, try switching power on and of a couple of times, my mobo resets automaticaly, some don't (I use K7V). If it doesn't work, reset bios with jumper.
