HS on my audigy?

I've heard that high FPS games cause the chip to get hot which in turn can cause crackles and pops.

is this true?

I just want to add that i had never had any sound problems but (before i broke it) while playing BF for a long time i started hearing pops...it's annoy as is but when it's as loud as it was...super annoying

Hm.... sounds odd.... i haven't experienced anything like that. And i have my case closed, with no case fans. :(:(:(:( So my machine gets around 50c. (CPU)

Hmmm, interesting, I'd like to know as well. One thing I have noticed is that my Audigy cards always attract more dust than any other card in my box. Don't know if it's because of heat or not.
