Hello!

I used a pencil on my Duron 700 to connect the L1 bridges. This might sound stupid but I want to know if I did it right. I can't reach beyond 800MHz. I've been told this could be a limitation of my PSU (230W). After disconnecting all other peripherals (cdrom, floppy) except the HDD shouldn't I at least be able to hit 850? Because I can't.

Just want to be sure I won't be wasting my money on a new PSU. A program that would check if a CPU is unlocked or not would great!

Your drives, fans, etc. run primarily on the 12V rail were the CPU and peripheral cards run primarily on the 5V and 3.3V power rails. The difference between an AMD approved and non-AMD approved PSU is the fact that the PSU dedicates more Amps the these to low voltage rails. That's why it's imperative to get a 300wtt PSU. When they dedicate more amps to the low voltage rails they are robbing the high voltage power rails of the current necessary for running CDRs fans and other power consuming components. When the high voltage rails run out of power they rob power back from the low voltage rails which causes system stability problems. Especially with OCed CPUs that are already drawing elevated currents.
