ok here's me problem. after reading the board for a solid month im ready to buy what i need for a overclocked system. the problem is living in canada i can seem to find any good dealers on the net that sell parts. almost all dealers are in the states. after paying for pst, gst, shipping costs then the customs broker its hardly worth it. are the any guys in here from canada that have any advice on how to solve my problem or know of any good venders in canada. i tried the pricewatch for canada but the service is not working. also have any canadian found some venders in the states that are still worth buying from even with all the hastles and costs that come with it.i sure dont want to buy my parts from a overmarked computer store in town. i appologize for not posting this in the venders section but not much activity is in there as there is here. thanks for any help

Take off, you hoser! :)

Maybe you should take a road trip into the states and smuggle the parts back to the Great White North. hehe

exactly...the gas prices alone would probably be a few hundred :p then we've gotta convert our lack-of-currency into American cash (which pretty much cuts the numerical value in half)

actually, i don't think the dollar value is quite THAT bad, but still. it hurts when you have to pay nearly double on the item, then you have to pay double the shipping costs because it's crossing the border, then you have to pay $50 in duties on top of that

lousy dollar difference...lousy duties on items crossing the border...*mutter*...

i just wish that vibe (http://www.vibecomputers.com) has everything i want (they're a Canadian company, eh?). i did some checking, and it seems that to ship ANYTHING to me, the maximum shipping was $7. and that was for an 80 pound monitor. pretty much everything else was $5. (however, that's probably only because i only live an hour away from them :D)

Maybe you guys could start a Canadian Mafia and hijack some shipments and sell the parts for less!

Hope this helps ya out bud,

www.computers-canada.com (listing for top 100 stores).

I bought my stuff at www.vibecomputers.com and at eglobalonline.com. I live in Ontario, these places are in B.C. I saved some $$$$, because you don't pay the P.S.T taxes if you're out of the province of B.C. Also ncix.com could be a place to go...........

Hope this saves you some headaches.

i like vibecomputers and ncix...vibe has really great shipping prices, and ncix is about 45mins from my house, so i don't have to pay any shipping at all (i can just pop in and grab it). the only problem is that i have to pay the extra taxes because i'm buying in the same province i live in. but in comparison, i think paying an extra $10-$20 isn't too bad, considering some of the costs for buying something from another province...i'm not sure which site it was, but i was looking at some site from winnipeg, and the shipping for a case was $50...screw that. i'd rather just pay the extra $10 in tax, then spend $5 on shipping. i can use that other $35 towards another toy (piece of hardware).
